Full or Half Eternity Rings: Which Will You Choose For New Diamond Rings?

As an experienced retailer of new diamond eternity rings, we’re often asked a range of questions about the differences between different styles. Eternity rings are no different – representing ‘a token of enduring love’, they are a popular and well-loved style that can be worn as an engagement or wedding band.

An eternity ring has diamonds that surround the entire circumference of the band – but there is a second style, a half eternity ring. A half eternity has diamonds that run around about half of the ring’s circumference. With a half eternity, there will be a section that doesn’t contain any diamonds or gemstones but aside from that, they are the same as ‘full’ eternity rings.

If you’re in the market for an eternity ring, but aren’t sure about the style you’d like, we are going to go through their differences to help you make a decision that will be right for you.

Eternity Rings and Half Eternity Rings: What’s The Difference?

The Price.

The full version of an eternity ring is more expensive – which stands to sense, seeing as it requires more diamonds to complete the ring! These extra diamonds mean that the ring needs more work and therefore requires more materials and time to achieve their brilliant sparkle. Also, because full diamond rings take time to resize, they often need to be customised for you, giving them that personal touch! On the other hand, half eternity rings will present an illusion of being surrounded by diamonds, despite not being.

Appearance.

While all styles of eternity rings are beautiful sights to behold, most of us tend to be partial towards full eternity rings as the sparkle that surrounds the ring is simply stunning. Another thing to note with full eternity rings is that you won’t have to worry about the ring-spinning and exposing the stone-free side of the band. Each side of the ring will look the same and the extra diamonds add an extra touch of luxury and sparkle. However, if you’re on a budget, it makes perfect economical sense to go for a half eternity ring.

Resizing.

One of the best reasons to get a full eternity ring is because it can be customised – they are ‘one of a kind’ (just like the love between the two people it represents!). Half eternity rings have stone-free sections, meaning that you can change their size, even years after any free resizing period is over.

So that was our guide to the differences between the different styles of eternity ring – whether you’re getting engaged, married, or just want to create a token of love this summer, why not browse our range of new diamond rings?
